Depue Lake

Depue Lake is a reservoir located in Bureau County, Illinois. It was created in 1930 by the construction of a dam on the Illinois River and covers an area of approximately 1,200 acres. The lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and water sports, and is home to a variety of fish species such as catfish, walleye, and largemouth bass. The Depue Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area provides access to the lake and offers camping, hiking, and hunting opportunities. The annual Depue Men's Club Carp Tournament, one of the largest amateur carp fishing competitions in the world, is held every June on Depue Lake.
